ANDY LAVICK PSYCHOTHERAPY

MY STORY
I’ve wanted to be a therapist for as long as I can remember. To that end, I earned a BA in Psychology from UCLA, and a master’s degree in Counseling at USC. But rather than practicing therapy at such a young age, I continued my education at USC to pursue an MBA. Following graduate school, I worked as a management consultant, providing pay-related recommendations to many companies. And while a few years consulting turned into many, I always knew in my heart that my desire to help others would bring me back to the field of psychotherapy. So, I transitioned my career (and my life) to become a practicing psychotherapist. Going back to my true calling has been tremendously rewarding and satisfying.

In preparation for working in private practice, I spent three years seeing clients at Jewish Family Service and 1.5 years at the San Fernando Valley Counseling Center. I was also a participant and co-facilitator for a dementia/Alzheimer’s caregiver support group. Additionally, I attended training at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and the Awakened Potential seminars at Lifeforce Education.

Today, I work with many amazing clients ranging in age from 18 to 80+. In addition to my private practice, I continue to work in a group practice led by David Plotkin, a preeminent practitioner of cognitive behavioral therapy. I really love what I do and would be happy to work with you.
